GC will examine candidates’ complaints: Ayatollah Jannati

TEHRAN – Guardian Council Secretary Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati has issued a statement asking protesting presidential candidates to submit their legal complaints about Friday’s election.
Candidates who intend to complain about the conduct of Friday’s presidential election should submit their documented complaints to the Guardian Council office as soon as possible, read part of the statement issued on Monday.The statement was issued after some presidential candidates said on Saturday that there were widespread irregularities in Friday’s presidential election and demanded a recount of all votes.
Guardian Council spokesman Abbas Ali Kadkhodaie told ISNA on Monday that the GC has begun investigating the validity of the election results.
And the Guardian Council will explain the verification process to the candidates, he added.
